There's a Reason Things Move Slower in Washington

Big Oil Cartoon

No words appear to be truer. There's a battle in Congress for an energy bill that will reduce American dependence upon foreign oil, improve air quality and spur technology development and the economy. And there's still time to let your representatives and senators know that you want a bill passed that the president can sign before the end of the year.

But the opposition is fierce and determined to keep things the status quo. So just what does American Petroleum Institute have to say about this energy legislation?
"At a time of tight supply and demand, the legislation would do absolutely nothing to bring to the marketplace one more gallon of gasoline or diesel or one more cubic foot of natural gas." - API President Red Cavaney (pdf)
Yep. There's a reason why things are moving slower.

But we can move faster and let our elected officials know we want renewable fuels, cleaner air, and energy security.
